Knitting materials and tools:
<> Circular (40 cm min) or double pointed knitting needles, 9 mm (US 13/UK 00)
<> Lion Brand Wool, Ease Thick & Quick – 20% wool, 80% acrylic. Color of your choice.
Knit cowl size:
Gauge: 9-10 stitches = 4 inches in half double crochet ribbing
Width: 24 cm (10”)
Length: 20 cm (8.5”)
Common abbreviations of knitting stitches:
Cable 3/1 Back (C3/1B): Slip 3 stitches to the extra needle and hold in back of work, k1 from the left-hand needle, [k1, p2] – from the extra needle.
Cable 1/3 Front (C1/3F): Slip 1 stitch to the extra needle and hold in front of work, [p2, k1] – from the left-hand needle, k1 from the extra needle.
Broadway chunky knit cowl pattern:
Cast on 60 stitches (or any other number that is divisible by 10), plus 1 stitch if you want to use an invisible joining method. Check small video tutorial of how to join in the round using 1 extra stitch.
Round 1: [p3, k2, p1, k2, p2] – repeat 6 times.
Rounds 2-4: Repeat round 1.
Round 5: [p1, C3/1B, p1, C1/3F] – repeat 6 times.
Round 6: [p1, k2, p5, k2] – repeat 6 times.
Rounds 7-10: Repeat round 6.
Round 11: p1, C1/3F, p1, C3/1B.
Round 12: [p3, k2, p1, k2, p2] – repeat 6 times.
Repeat Rounds 1-12 as many times as needed.
I have knitted in total 28 rounds. Bind off all stitches.
