Crochet Five-Pointed Star Pattern

Let’s continue today with geometrical forms and crochet a five-pointed star, which is a bit more challenging than crochet a triangle. Five-pointed star could also be a decor element on its own or be used in a composition with other items. Experiment with various sizes and create a Christmas tree using a triangle and a small star at the top of it. Enjoy crocheting.

Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet hook 5 mm (H)

<> Bernant Handicrafter (4ply) – 100% cotton, 50 grams – French blue color.

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches:

ch – chain

sl st – slip stitch

st – stitch

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet: yarn over twice, insert the hook in the work, yo and draw the yarn through work only, yo and draw through first 2 loops, yo and draw through the last 2 loops.

tr – treble: yarn over twice, insert the hook in the work, yo and draw the yarn through work only, yo and draw through the first 2 loops, yo and draw through next 2 loops and yo again and draw through last 2 loops.

Crochet star pattern:

Make adjustable ring. Ch 3, 14 dc into the ring, join with sl st – pull tail to close ring.

*Ch 6, sc in the 3d ch from hook, hdc in the next ch, dc in the next ch, tc in the next ch, skip next dc on the 1st Row, sl st in the next dc, repeat from * to get in total 5 points. Cut the yarn and weave in ends.
