Common abbreviations of knit stitches:
k – knit
p – purl
st(s) – stitch(es)
yo – yarn over
p3tog – purl three together
sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch purlwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch.
Corn knit stitch instructions:
Cast on even number of stitches. Cast on 30 sts.
Row1 (WS): sel s, *k1, p1 – repeat from*, sel s.
Row 2 (RS): sel s, *k1, yo, slip the next stitch holding working yarn in back, repeat from *, sel s.
Row 3 (WS): sel s, *yo, slip together next stitch and yo st of the previous row, k1 – repeat from*, sel s.
Row 4: sel s, * k1, p3tog (purl together next stitch and two yo) – repeat from *, sel s.
Repeat Rows 1-4 to form the pattern
