If you measure the width of the crown across the open stitches, it should be approximately 10 cm (4 in). Work additional decrease rounds if needed. Cut the yarn, leaving a 40–50 cm tail. Graft the remaining stitches using a yarn needle and  Kitchener stitch to create an invisible stockinette seam. Weave in all ends.

Tassels.

Color A: Cut a 42 cm strand of yarn. Twist each half in opposite directions until the yarn starts twisting onto itself. Fold in half and allow it to twist into a cord. Set aside for the tassel.

Take a length of yarn and fold it 13–15 times to form the tassel strands. Each folded strand should measure approximately 15 cm (5.9 in).

Cut the yarn at the end of folding. Attach the twisted cord to the center of the folded strands using the two ends of the cord.

Fold the bunch of yarn in half. Take another short piece of yarn and wrap it tightly around the top portion of the folded strands to form a small “head” of the tassel. Knot securely. Trim the ends evenly to create a neat finish.
Repeat the process with Color B and attach both tassels to the hat as desired.
