p – purl
k2tog – knit two together

sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch knitwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch
Bells stitch knitting pattern:
Cast on a multiple of 5 sts, plus 2 extra sts and plus 2 selvage stitches.
Rows 1: sel s, [p2, k1, p1, k1] – repeat till the end, p2, sel s.
Row 2: sel s, [k2, p1, k1, p1] – repeat till the end, k2, sel s.
Row 3: sel s, [p2, k1, p1, k1] – repeat till the end, p2, sel s.
Row 4: sel s, [k2, p1, k1, p1] – repeat till the end, k2, sel s.
Row 5: sel s, [p2, yo, slip next stitch knitwise, k2tog, pass slipped stitch over just knitted one, yo] – repeat till the end, p2, sel s.
Row 6: sel s, [k2, p1, k1, p1] – repeat till the end, k2, sel s. Purl yo stitch through the front loop.
