Knitting materials and tools:
<> Straight or circular needles 5 mm (US8 / UK6)
<> PAINTBOX, Simply Chunky (5) – 100% acrylic. Quantity 2.5-3 balls.
Common abbreviations of knit stitches:
k – knit
k1b – knit though the back loop
p– purl
st(s) – stitch(es)
sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch knitwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch

Knit reversible one row scarf size:
Width: 16 cm (6.3 in)
Length (2 balls): 140 cm (55 in)

Reversible one row scarf knitting pattern:
Cast on 30 sts or any number multiple of 4 sts, plus 2 selvage stitches.
Row 1: sel s, [k1, p1, k1b, k1] – repeat across, sel s. Turn.
Repeat Row 1 until the scarf reaches desired length. One ball of the yarn I used makes approximately 70 cm (27.5 in), so estimate how many balls you need based on the length you want your scarf to be.
