Meet the latest addition to my family of stitches, armour knit stitch. Simple, yet powerful look makes it worthwhile to grasp. You can use the stitch as is or alternate it with stockinette stitch to create a masterpiece beanie, scarf or hood. Let’s do it.
Knitting materials and tools:
<> DPN 4 mm (UK 8 or US 6)
<> Caron Simply Soft (4) – 100% acrylic: 170 grams -288 m per skein.
Common abbreviations of knit stitches:
k – knit
st(s) – stitch(es)
sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch purlwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch
Knit armour stitch instructions:
Cast on an odd number of stitches.
Row1 (WS): sel s, *k1, slip next stitch holding yarn in back– repeat from *, k1, sel s.
Row 2: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.
Row 3 (WS): sel s, k2, slip next stitch holding yarn in back *k1, slip next stitch holding yarn in back, – repeat from *, k2, sel s.
Row 4: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.
Repeat Rows 1-4 to form pattern

Beautiful patterns and you are so good at knitting. I cannot hold the yarn with my left fingers due to arthritis so continue in the same old way. Thank you for letting me look at these
Hi Shirley. I am using continental way of knitting. I believe there is no difference at the end, whichever way you are using, the most important you enjoy the knit process.
