Spring’s warmth heads its way, and once it finally arrives, you better be ready to meet it with a positive mood, big smile, and an appropriate outfit. As we all know the Spring has lots of mood swings, in the morning it might be sunny and warm, while in the afternoon rainy and plenty of cold. If only it was just once in a while, but it’s not, and having a knit sweater made of merino wool at hands definitely won’t hurt. I’m so excited to see the buds and first leaves that I couldn’t find a better idea for this pattern. Meet blooming leaf knit raglan sweater pattern.

Repeat Rounds 20-41 2 times. At very last round do not purl the last 4 stitches. Place these 4 and next 4 stitches to the scrap yarn. This is a place for the underarm. Do not cut the yarn. Take new ball and move on to knit sleeves.
From this point onwards do not add new leaves and continue finishing the leaves that you have already started.
Knitting sleeves of the raglan sweater:
Make two. Cast on 42 sts using 3.5 mm knitting needles, join to knit in the round. Rib k2, p2 for about 7-7.5 cm. Change for the large needles size and purl every next round. After 7 cm add 2 more stiches that the total number of stitches are equal 44. Add one stitch in the beginning and one at the end of the round. I like to use purl front and back method that is described above. Knit sleeve until it reaches 44 cm. At the very last round do not purl last 4 stitches. Place these 4 and next 4 stiches to the waste yarn. Cut the yarn leaving 15-20 cm tail.
Joining sleeves to the body of knit raglan sweater:
Round 1: Using working yarn of the body part purl 36 stitches from the waste yarn (first sleeve), p27, k19, p7, k2, p7, k19, p27, place next 8 stitches to the waste yarn, purl 36 stitches (second sleeve), p27, k19, p7, k2, p7, k19, p27.

Sewing underarm holes of knit raglan sweater
Change needles to the smaller size, in my case 3.5 mm, add couple of stitches to have in total the number divisible by 4 and finish ribbing k2, p2. Sew underarms. Check my Instagram video on how to bind of and weave in all ends.
Wash the sweater, then dry it on the flat surface and a little bit reshape to prevent stretching. Your sweater is ready! It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? 😊
