I just started this and realized there’s no Row 2 or Row 3 in the pattern. HELP!

Could this be knitted in the round for a beanie? How would you finish the crown?

This stitch can be use for beret and hats. For the crown decrease purl stitches in between, after that decrease knit stitches and finish with ribbing k1, p1

I think the written pattern is wrong. After I finish the row where you knit 4 together, I end up with an odd number of stitches, which throws off the pattern.
