Crochet materials and tools:

<> Crochet hook 4.5 mm (UK 7)

<> Bernat Super Value (4) worsted weight yarn

Crochet leaf size:

About 6.5 cm without stalk.

Shape – rhomboid.

Common abbreviations of crochet stitches:

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

sl st – slip stitch

st – stitch

dc – double crochet

tr – treble crochet

Crochet rhomboid leaf pattern:

Chain 11. SC in 3d chain from hook, HDC in the next, 2 DC in the next, TR in the next, 2TR in the next, TR in the next, 2 DC in the next, HDC in the next, work [SC, ch1, SC] in last chain. Now working on the other side of the chain, HDC in the next, 2DC in the next, TR in the next, 2TR in the next, TR in the next, 2 DC in the next, HDC in the next, SC in the last sl st. At this point you can cut the yarn if you do not want the leaf with a stem and stalk.

For the leaf with the stem, ch1, sl st, and now insert the hook in the center of your leaf, yarn over and pull through the leaf and the loop on the hook, continue working the slip stitches all the way up the center of the leaf. At the end ch 6. Cut the yarn and weave in ends.

Hi!!

Would increasing hook and/or yearn size make these leave bigger or would they just look silly? 😅 Still fairly new to crochet, but excited to try these!
