Honeycomb Knitting Stitch Pattern

Knitting materials and tools:

<> XL Baby Wool, Gazzal – 100% Eco Wool. 100 grams -193 yards per skein

Color A -Blue

Color B – Yellow

Common abbreviations of knit stitches:

k – knit

p – purl

k3togb – knit three together back loops only

st(s) – stitch(es)

sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch knitwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch

Honeycomb knit stitch instructions:

Cast on a multiple of 6 sts, plus 1 extra stitch and plus 2 selvage stitches. With color A, cast on 33 sts.

Row 1: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s.

Row 2: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s.

Row 3: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.

Change yarn color from blue to yellow. In the next round after you change color, always knit the first stitch instead of slipping it. Doing it this way you will not have jogs when you start seaming up socks.

Row 4: k1, knit all stitches, sel s.

Row 5: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s.

Row 6: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.

Row 7: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s

Change yarn color from B to A

Row 8: k1, *find 2 ridges of the 2^nd and 3^rd row (color A) that are in front of the next stitch, pick them up and place them on the left-hand needle, k3togb (knit 2 ridges and next stitch together thorough the back loops), k5 – repeat from * till the end, find 2 ridges of the 2^nd and 3^rd row (color A) that are in front of the next stitch, pick them up and place them on the left-hand needle, k3togb, sel s.
