<> Loops & Threads, Impeccable, (4) – 100% acrylic.

Common abbreviations of knit stitches:

k – knit

p – purl

yo – yarn over

sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch knitwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch

k3tog – knit three together: Slip the first two stitches knitwise, then knit third stitch, and finally, pass two slipped stitches over the knitted stitch.

Candle flame stitch knitting pattern:

Cast on a multiple of 4, plus 3 extra stitches and 2 selvage stitches. For example 33 sts.

Row 1: sel s, [p3, (k1, yo, k1)- in the same stitch] – repeat till the end as many times as needed across the row, p3, sel s.

Row 2: sel s, [k3, p3] repeat across, k3, sel s.

Row 3: sel s, repeat [p3, k3] across, p3, sel s.

Row 4: sel s, repeat [k3, p3]  across, k3, sel s.

Row 5: sel s, repeat [p3, k3tog] across, p3, sel s.

Row 6: sel s, repeat [k3, p1]  across, k3, sel s. 

Row 7: sel s, repeat [p1, (k1, yo, k1) – in the same stitch, p2] across, p1, (k1, yo, k1)- in the same stitch, p1, sel s.

Row 8: sel s, repeat [k1, p3, k2] across, k1, p3, k1, sel s.

Row 9: sel s, repeat [p1, k3, p2] across, p1, k3, p1, sel s.

Row 10: sel s, repeat [k1, p3, k2] across, k1, p3, k1, sel s.

Row 11: sel s, repeat [p1, k3tog, p2] across, p1, k3tog, p1, sel s.

Row 12: sel s, repeat [k1, p1, k2] across, k1, p1, k1, sel s.

Repeat Rows 1-12 to form the pattern.
