Knitting materials and tools:
Circular (16 in or longer) or double-pointed knitting needles 4 mm (US 6 / UK 8 ). For the slightly bigger size use 4.5 or 5 mm knitting needles.
Sirdar, Snuggly (DK) – 55% Nylon 45% Acrylic, 50 grams – 165 meters per skein. Quantity: 55 grams. Knit holding two strands together, or substitute with medium-weight (4) yarn and knit with one strand.
Knit infant baby hat size:
Size: newborn – 3 months – 36-40 cm
Gauge: 17-18 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette

skpo – Slip, Knit, Pass Over: Slip one stitch to the right needle knitwise, knit in the next stitch and drop this stitch off the left needle, insert the left needle into the slipped stitch, pass it over the knit stitch and it’s done

Cast on 64 sts, or any number multiple of 4. Join to knit in the rounds. PM.
Please note that at the end of knitting, the right side of the hat will become the wrong side, and the wrong side will become the right side. When joining a new yarn tail, do not leave any knots or loose ends inside the hat while knitting.
Rib k1, p1 until the hat measures 17 cm (6.7 in)

Shaping infant beanie’s crown:
Divide all stitches in half: 32 and 32. Then divide each set of 32 stitches in half and place a stitch marker on the 16th stitch (purl st in both parts.). In total, you will mark two stitches: the 16th and the 48th stitches.

Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Pull the tail through the remaining stitches to close the crown. Weave in all tails on this side (the side that will become the inside of the hat). Then turn the hat right side out.
