Knitting materials and tools:
Circular (40 cm) and double-pointed knitting needles 4.5 mm (US 7/UK 7). Switch to double-pointed needles when shaping the crown.
So Crafty – 80% acrylic, 20% wool.
Weight Category – Aran (4). Quantity – 60-70 grams.
Common abbreviations of knit stitches:
k – knit
p – purl
yo – yarn over
pm – place stitch marker
k2tog – knit two together
skpo - Slip, Knit, Pass Over: Slip one stitch to the right needle knitwise, knit in the next stitch, and drop this stitch off the left needle, insert the left needle into the slipped stitch, pass it over the knit stitch and it’s done.

Knit men’s hat size:
Head circumference: Teen/Adult: 53-57 cm (21-22”)
Gauge: 17 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette
Men’s hat with fixed brim knitting pattern:
Cast on 96 sts or any other number multiple of 8 (for exemple 80, 88 and so on). Join to knit in rounds. Pm.
Rounds 1-17: [k1, p1] – repeat around. At this point, the piece should measure approximately 7 cm.
Round 18: [k1, slip the next st holding working yarn in front] – repeat around.
Round 19: [k1, slip the next st holding working yarn in front] – repeat around.
Round 20: [k1, slip the next st holding working yarn in front] – repeat around.
Rounds 21-37: [k1, p1] – repeat around.
Round 38: Fold the brim inward and align the cast-on round with the live stitches on your needles, making sure the sides that will be on the inside are facing each other. To create a double brim, knit the stitch from the left-hand needle together with the corresponding loop from the cast-on edge. *Knit the stitch from the left-hand needle together with the next loop from the cast-on—repeat until the end of the round. Even though we knitted ribbing, in the join round we always knit two stitches together (k2tog).
Knitting body of the men’s beanie:
Round 39: [Slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k1] – repeat around.
Round 40: knit all stitches around.
Repeat Rounds 39 and 40 until the hat measures 16-17 cm
Shaping the crown of the men’s beanie:
Divide all stitches into 4 parts, place a stitch marker at the beginning of each part, or redistribute them evenly among the 4 double-pointed needles.
Round 1: [Slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k2tog, (k1, slip) – 9 times, k1, skpo] – repeat 4 times.
Round 2: knit all stitches around.
Round 3: [Slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k2tog, (slip, k1) – 8 times, slip, skpo] – repeat 4 times.
Round 4: knit all stitches around.
Round 5: [Slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k2tog, (k1, slip) – 7 times, k1, skpo] – repeat 4 times.
Round 6: knit all stitches around.
Round 7: [Slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k2tog, (slip, k1) – 6 times, slip, skpo] – repeat 4 times.
Round 8: knit all stitches around.
Round 9: [Slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k2tog, (k1, slip) – 5 times, k1, skpo] – repeat 4 times.
Round 10: knit all stitches around.
Round 11: [Slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k2tog, (slip, k1) – 4 times, slip, skpo] – repeat 4 times.
Round 12: knit all stitches around.

Round 14: knit all stitches around.
Round 15: [Slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k2tog, (slip, k1) – 2 times, slip, skpo] – repeat 4 times.

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of about 10-15 cm. Using a crochet hook or yarn needle, weave the tail through the last stitches and pull it tight to close the opening. Secure by weaving in any loose ends.
