I love the stretchy winter beanie, but as a novice knitter I’m not comfortable knitting in the round. My question is.. can I knit it on straight needles a sew a seam in the back

Hi
This is a very lovely pattern I would love to make- I don’t have #5 wt, only have 4 med worsted wt. I usually wear a small adult , will this work in 4 worsted wt with more stitches? Thank you, Maria
