Knit flat bricklane socks size:
Size: US7-7.5 / EU 37-38 or 24.5 cm. Follow the instruction tips to adjust the sock size.
Gauge:19-20 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette
How to calculate the right size:
24.5 cm -15% (for stretch) = 21 cm final slipper length.
Toe decreases (for almost all sizes): 3 cm.
21 cm – 3 cm = 18 cm – sole length before decreases.

k – knit
k2tog – knit two together
p – purl
pm – place marker
RS – right side
WS – wrong side
LHN – left-hand needle

st(s) – stitch(es)

Bricklane flat socks knitting pattern:
MAKE TWO.
Using Color A cast on 43 sts or any other number multiple of 6, plus 5 extra stitches, plus 2 selvage stitches (for the smaller size cast on 37 sts).
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13: sel s, [k1, p1] – repeat across, k1, sel s.
Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14: sel s, [p1, k1] – repeat across, p1, sel s.
Or knit until ribbing reaches 6 cm (2.4 in). Work an even number of rows.
Row 15: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s
Switch to Color B:
When changing yarn colors, always begin by slipping the first stitch. Then, starting from the second stitch, switch to the new yarn color.
Row 16: sel s, [k2, slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k3] – repeat 6 times, k2, slip next stitch holding working yarn in back, k2, sel s. When you slip a stitch, always slip it purlwise.
Row 17: sel s, [k2, slip next stitch holding working yarn in front, k3] – repeat 6 times, k2, slip next stitch holding working yarn in front, k2, sel s.
Row 18: Repeat Row 16.
Row 19: Repeat Row 17.
Switch to Color A:
Row 20: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.
Row 21: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s.
Switch to Color C:
Row 22: sel s, [k5, slip next stitch holding working yarn in back] – repeat 6 times, k5, sel s.
Row 23: sel s, [k5, slip next stitch holding working yarn in front] – repeat 6 times, k5, sel s.
Row 24: Repeat Row 22.
Row 25: Repeat Row 23.
To prevent long floats, twist the working yarns every 2–3 rows while alternating three colors.
Switch to Color A:
Row 26: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.
Row 27: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s.
Repeat Rows 16-27 until the sock measures 13-14 cm (5.5 in). I knitted Rows 16-27 once more and then knitted Rows 16-20 again. Cut Colors B and C.
Follow the next steps for calculating the heel:
43 sts /2 = 22 and 21 sts.
22 sts/2 = 11 sts.
Place stitch markers in the following order along the row: 11 sts (heel), pm, 21 sts (central part), pm, 11 sts (heel).

Knitting the heel (side 1):
Rows (WS) 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17: sel s, k9, sel s. Turn.
Rows (RS) 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18: sel s, k9, sel s. Turn.
Bind off all stitches. Once you have the last stitch on your needle, pick up 10 stitches along the inner edge, inserting the needle through the back loops, and purl each stitch as you pick it up. Continue knitting central part: p21. Once 11 stitches remain, begin working the second side of the heel.
Knitting the heel (side 2):
Row (WS) 1: k10, p1. Turn.
Rows (WS) 3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17: sel s, k9, p1. Turn.
Rows (RS) 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18: sel s, k9, sel s. Turn.
Bind off all stitches. Cut the Color A.
Join Color C, or the color required for the current row.
Begin picking up stitches along the inner edge of the heel through the front loop: pick up 1 stitch without knitting it (counts as a selvage stitch), then pick up and knit 5 stitches. Next, pick up 1 stitch without knitting (counts as a slipped stitch), then pick up and knit 4 stitches. You now have 11 stitches picked up.
Continue working by repeating the pattern of Row 22: knit 1 stitch, slip the next stitch with the working yarn held at the back, and continue in pattern.
Work Rows 23–27 once, then repeat Rows 16–27 until the sock reaches 18 cm, or the length you calculated.

Knitting the toe:
Place stitch markers in the following order along the row: 11 sts, pm, 21 sts, pm, 11 sts. Cut Colors B and C.
Color A:
Row 1: sel s, k7, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k15, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k7, sel s.
Row 2: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s (39 sts)
Row 3: sel s, k6, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k13, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k6, sel s.
Row 4: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s (35 sts)
Row 5: sel s, k5, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k11, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k5, sel s.
Row 6: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s (31 sts)
Row 7: sel s, k4, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k9, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k4, sel s.
Row 8: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s (27 sts)
Row 9: sel s, k3, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k7, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k3, sel s.
Row 10: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s (23 sts)
Row 11: sel s, k2, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k5, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k2, sel s.
Row 12: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s (19 sts)
Cut the yarn, leaving a 60–70 cm tail. Thread the tail through the remaining 19 stitches. Sew the sock on the right side along the edge by inserting the needle into the center of a selvage stitch and pulling it through the next stitch. Repeat this along the other side. When you reach the heel, continue the same process. Finally, cut the yarn and weave in all ends securely.
