Knitting materials and knitting tools:
<> 5 Double Pointed Knitting Needles or 16” Circular Knitting Needles 5 mm (US 8/ UK 6) for the main part and 4.5 mm (US7/ UK7) for the ribbing.

Knit helix cables hat size:
Adult: 54-56 cm.
Gauge: 15– 10 cm (4 inches) in stockinette
Common abbreviations of knitting stitches:
k – knit
p – purl
st(s) – stitch(es)
inc – increase
yo – yarn over: Lay the working yarn over the right needle from front to back.
k2tog – knit two together
p2tog – purl two together
C2F – Cable 2 Front: Slip 2 knit stitches to the extra needle and hold in front of work, k2 from the left-hand needle, k2 from the extra needle.

Knitting the body
Using long tail cast on method and 4.5 mm knitting needles, cast on 80 stitches. Place stitch marker and join.
Rib [k1, p1] until hat reaches 16-17 cm.
In the next round we are going to add 4 sts to get the total number of sts divisible by 14.
Change to 5 mm knitting needles.
Round 1: p2, C2F, k4, inc, k3, p2, C2F, k3, inc, k4, p2, C2F, k8, p2, C2F, k8, p2, C2F, k4, inc, k3, p2, C2F, k3, inc, k4.
Round 2: [p2, k12] – repeat 6 times
Round 3: [p2 k2tog, yo, C2F, k6] – repeat 6 times
Round 4: [p2, k12] – repeat 6 times. Knit yo stitch through the back loop to avoid getting holes.
Round 5: [p2, k2, k2tog, yo, C2F, k4] – repeat 6 times
Round 6: [p2, k12] – repeat 6 times.
Round 7: [p2, k4, k2tog, yo, C2F, k2] – repeat 6 times
Round 8: [p2, k12] – repeat 6 times.
Round 9: [p2, k6, k2tog, yo, C2F] – repeat 6 times
Round 10: [p2, k12] – repeat 6 times.
Round 11: [p2, k8, k2tog, yo, k2] – repeat 6 times
Round 12: [p2, k12] – repeat 6 times.
Repeat round 1-12 two more times. Pay attention that you are not going to make increases in the first round anymore. The first round is going to look as follows: [p2, CF2, k8] – repeat 6 times.
Shaping the crown
Round 1: [p2, slip 2 knit stitches to the extra needle and hold in front of work, k2tog from the left-hand needle, k2 from the extra needle, k6, k2tog] – repeat 6 times.
Round 2: [p2, k10] – repeat 6 times.
Round 3: [p2tog, k1, slip 2 knit stitches to the extra needle and hold in front of work, k2tog from the left-hand needle, k2 from the extra needle, k3, k2tog] – repeat 6 times.
Round 4: [p1, k8] – repeat 6 times.
Round 5: [p1, (k2tog) – 4 times] – repeat 6 times.
Cut the tail, and thread it through remaining stitches, pull the tail to tighten the top of the hat. Weave in ends.

Your Round 1 has too many stitches. If your trying to increase to 84, your round 1 will have 88. You also put C2B istead of C2F in it.
