Common abbreviations of knitting stitches:
k – knit
p – purl
st(s) – stitch(es)
k3tog – knit three together: slip the next two stitches as if to knit, k1, pass two slipped stitches over just knitted one.

Knit flower size:
17-18 sts –10 cm (4 inches).
Flower diameter: 10 cm
Petals: 9
Each petal: 10 sts
9×10= 90 sts +1 extra stitch +2 selvage stitches = 93 sts
If you want your flower bigger:
Petals: 10
Each petal: 14 sts
10×14= 140 sts +1 extra stitch +2 selvage stitches = 143 sts
If you want your flower smaller:
Petals: 6
Each petal: 14 sts
6×14= 84 sts +1 extra stitch +2 selvage stitches = 87 sts
By adjusting the petal and stitch numbers, we can knit a bigger, smaller, or denser flower, providing options from airy and fluffy to more compact and structured blooms.
Rounded flower knitting pattern:
Cast on 93 sts.
Row 1: sel s, k5, p1, [k9, p1] – repeat 8 times, k5, sel s.
Row 2: sel s, [p1, yo, k3, k3tog, k3, yo] – repeat 9 times, p1, sel s.
Row 3: sel s, k5, p1, [k9, p1] – repeat 8 times, k5, sel s. Knit YO stitch through the back loop.
Row 4: sel s, [p1, yo, k3, k3tog, k3, yo] – repeat 9 times, p1, sel s.
Row 5: sel s, k5, p1, [k9, p1] – repeat 8 times, k5, sel s.
Row 6: sel s, [p1, k3, k3tog, k3] – repeat 9 times, p1, sel s. (75 sts)
Row 7: sel s, k4, p1, [k7, p1] – repeat 8 times, k4, sel s. (75 sts)
Row 8: sel s, [p1, k2, k3tog, k2] – repeat 9 times, p1, sel s. (57 sts)
Round 9: sel s, k3, p1, [k5, p1] – repeat 8 times, k3, sel s. (57 sts)
Round 10: sel s, [p1, k1, k3tog, k1] – repeat 9 times, p1, sel s. (39 sts)
Cut the yarn and, using a yarn needle, pull the tail through the remaining stitches to form the flower. You have two options: leave the flower’s center open or pull the tail tight to close the center. Choose the side of the flower you prefer and make a seam along the petals’ edge on the wrong side. Finally, weave in all ends.

Help!
When I switch to the smaller flower (87) sts, I am ok through to row 7 when I hit the decreases. I am confused with the repeats at this stage.
Can you help me out with your formula to use?
Hi, Have you started with Row 1: sel s, k7, p1, [k13,p1] k7, sel s. I need to understand what was in your Row 6 and did you stuck in row 7 or 8?
