Knitting materials and tools:

<> DPN 4 mm (UK 8 or US 6);

<> Worsted weight yarn (4).

Common abbreviations of knit stitches:

k – knit

p – purl

st(s) – stitch(es)

yo – yarn over

sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch purlwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch

Champagne knit stitch instructions:

Cast on a multiple of 3 sts plus 1 extra sts and plus 2 selvage stitches. In my example 27 stitches.

Row1: sel s, knit all stitches, sel s.

Row 2: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 once more if you want to get a wider distance between waves. If no, go on knitting 3d row.

Row 3: sel s, *p1, bring the yarn in front and slip next 2 stitches – repeat from *, p1   sel s.

Row 4: sel s, *p1, k2, – repeat from *, p1, sel s.

Repeat Rows 1-4 to form pattern.
