Heart is a symbol of love and there is no better way to show your love to crochet than crochet a heart 😉 Whether you will use it for a décor purpose or simply to enjoy the process and lift your mood, this heart is worth spending a few minutes on.
Crochet materials and tools:
<> Crochet hook 9 mm
<> Lion Brand Wool, Ease Thick & Quick – 20% wool, 80% acrylic. Color of your choice
Common abbreviations of crochet stitches:
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
yo – yarn over
dc – double crochet: yarn over twice, insert the hook in the work, yo and draw the yarn through work only, yo and draw through first 2 loops, yo and draw through the last 2 loops.
tr – treble: yarn over twice, insert the hook in the work, yo and draw the yarn through work only, yo and draw through the first 2 loops, yo and draw through next 2 loops and yo again and draw through last 2 loops.
Crochet chunky heart pattern:
Make adjustable ring. Ch 3, 3 tr, 3 dc, ch1, 1tr, ch1, 3 dc, 3 tr (into adjustable ring), ch3, sl st – pull tail to close ring.
Optionally: if you decide to use heart to decorate a Christmas tree or a present box, do not cut the yarn and make a hanging loop. Ch7, pop a sl st back into that first of your ch7. Cut the yarn and weave in end.
