pf st – puff stitch: [yarn over, insert hook into indicated stitch and pull up a long loop]- repeat 4 times, yarn over and pull through 8 loops and working loop on the hook (9 in total), and after that to secure the puff stitch make a single ch.

Chain 16.

Row 1: dc in 4^th ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn.

Row 2: ch3, pf st, ch 1, pf st in the same loop, ch1, skip the next loop, 7 dc, ch1, skip the next stitch, pf st, ch1, pf st in the same loop, dc. Turn.

Row 3: ch 1, sc, sc in the pf st, sc into ch-1 space, sc in the pf st, sc into ch-1 space, sc, ch 9, [insert you hook into the second chain from the hook, yarn over and pull up a loop, leave that loop on your hook] – repeat 8 times, [yarn over and draw through two loops] – repeat 8 times, skip next 5 loops, sc into the last dc of previous row, sc into ch-1 space, sc in the pf st, sc into ch-1 space, sc in the pf st, sc. Turn.

Assembly of the crochet lace ear warmer:

Lay the headband flat on the table. Take the bottom edge and fold it toward the top edge. Now take 2 ends and make something that looks like a “sandwich”.

Line up your stitches as best as you can. Then take your yarn needle and stitch back and forth through all 4 layers.
