Knitting the body of a two-needles hat:
Cast on 77 sts, or any other odd number.
Row 1: sel s, p1, [k1, p1] – repeat till the end, sel s.
Row 2: sel s, [k1, p1] – repeat across, k1, sel s.
Repeat Rows 1-2 until the ribbing measures 5 cm. I have completed 10 rows of ribbing.
Row 11: sel s, [p1, slip next stitch holding working yarn in front] – repeat across, p1, sel s.
Row 12: sel s, [k1, p1] – repeat across, k1, sel s.
Repeat Rows 11-12 until the hat’s height measures 20 cm.
Shaping the crown of a two-needles hat:
Row 1: sel s, [p1, k3tog] – repeat across, p1, sel s.
Row 2: sel s, [k1, p1] – repeat across, k1, sel s.
Row 3: sel s, [p1, k3tog] – repeat across, p1, k1, p1, sel s.
Row 4: sel s, [k1, p1] – repeat across, k1, sel s.
Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail (at least 50 cm). To seam the hat, use a mattress stitch. Thread the tail onto a large yarn needle and pull it through the remaining stitches. Line up the two sides with the right side facing out, using stitch markers if needed to keep them aligned.
Insert the needle under the two bars between the selvedge stitch and the next knit stitch on the right side, pulling the yarn through. Then, do the same on the left side. Continue seaming by picking up the bars on both sides. Once finished, weave in the ends.
