Cable Knit Fingerless Gloves Pattern

This gorgeous fingerless cable gloves knitting pattern is a perfect accessory for people with cold hands. Knitting materials and knitting tools:

<> 5 Double Pointed Knitting Needles number 3.5;

<> 1 skein of Alize Lana Gold Classic 50% wool, 50% acrylic. This color is something between blue and green

Knit fingerless gloves size:

Wrist size 16-17 сm

Common abbreviations of knitting stitches:

k – knit

p – purl

k2tog – knit two together

Cable 4 Back (C4B): Slip 4 knit stitches to the extra needle and hold in back of work, 4k from the left hand needle, 4k from the extra needle.

Cable 4 Front (C4F): Slip 4 knit stitches to the extra needle and hold in front of work, 4k from the left hand needle, 4k from the extra needle.

Note for knitters:

The left mitten is identical to the right one until you reach thumb gusset.

Ribbing of the cable knit fingerless gloves:

So let’s start. Cast on 40 stitches for the warmers. (I have used long tail cast on)

Round 1: Begin with rib 2 by 2 *knit 2, purl 2* keep repeating 20-25 rounds until the ribbing measures 7,5-8 cm from the edge.

Body of the cable knit fingerless gloves:

Round 1: 2p, 16k, 22p.

Round 2-7: repeat Round 1.

Round 8: 2p, C4B, C4F, 22p.

Keep repeating Rounds 1-8 – 3 more times until you reach gusset section.

Gusset section of the knit cable fingerless gloves:

Round 1: 2p, 16k, 3p, take another color thread and continue 6p, slip 6 purl stitches back to the left needle, take the main color thread and continue 19p.

(Gusset section for the right mitten, where you worked with another color thread on the 3^rd needle. For the left mitten work with another color thread on the 4^th needle).

Round 2: 2p, 16k, 22p.

Round 3-7: repeat Round 2.

Round 8: 2p, C4B, C4F, 22p.

Round 9: Begin again with rib 2 by 2 * 2k, 2p* keep repeating 10-15 rounds until ribbing measures 4-5 cm from the row 8^th.

Last Round: Finish off mitt – *k2tog, back stitch from the right needle to the left – repeat from * till the end of the round.

Thumb of the cable knit fingerless gloves:

Draw out another color thread and pick up 6 stitches up and 6 stitches down.

Redistribute stiches to make 4 on each needle, attach yarn at inside and purl until your finger measures 3-4cm. Finish off finger. Weave in ends.

Repeat knitting pattern for the left mitten.

Now we have a real set hat and warmers. I am so excited and ready for winter.
