Crochet materials and tools:

Crochet hat size and calculations:
Size: Adult 56 cm
Gauge: 10 sc -10 cm (4 inch); 1sc =1cm
56*1 =56 sts – crochet hat’s crown until you have 56 sts.
Common abbreviations of crochet stitches:
ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
sl st blo – slip stitch back loop only
pm – place stitch marker
Crochet bucket hat pattern:
Start with magic ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Do not join. I highly recommend placing a stitch marker into the first st to keep track. Pull the yarn to close the ring.
Round 2: remove the stitch marker and place it again after you crochet 1st st. 2 sc into each st of previous round – 12 sc.
Round 3: *1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat from * till the ends – 18 sc.
Round 4: *1 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat from * till the ends – 24 sc.
Round 5: *[1 sc in next st] – 3 times, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat from * till the ends – 30 sc.
Round 6: *[1 sc in next st] – 4 times, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat from * till the ends – 36 sc.
Round 7: *[1 sc in next st] – 5 times, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat from * till the ends – 42 sc.
Round 8: *[1 sc in next st] – 6 times, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat from * till the ends – 48 sc.
Round 9: 1 sc in each st of previous round – 48 sc
Round 10: *[1 sc in next st] – 7 times, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat from * till the ends – 54 sc.
Round 11: 1 sc in each st of previous round – 54 sc
Above, when I was doing calculations, I had 56 sts, so in the next round I am going to add two more stitches to get 56 sts in total.
Round 12 12 sc in the next 12 sts, 2 sc in the next st, 28 sc in the next 28 sts, 2 sc in the next st, 12 sc in the next 12 sts – 56 sc.
Round 13: 1 sc in each st of previous round – 56 sc.
Repeat Round 13 until the hat reaches desired length. For an adult hat: 17 cm (6.5-7 inch)
Crochet a brim of the bucket hat:
Round 1: sl st in next st, sl st blo and pm in this stitch. Sl st blo in each st of previous round.
Round 2: remove the stitch marker, ([insert the hook under front loop of the single crochet stitch in the last round before the brim, then insert hook under front loop of the sl st in the previous round and make a sc] – 13 times, 2 sc in next st) – repeat 4 times. Do not forget to place marker in the first st.
Round 3: [14 sc in next 14 st, 2 sc in next st] – repeat 4 times.
Round 4: [15 sc in next 15 st, 2 sc in next st] – repeat 4 times.
Round 5: [16 sc in next 16 st, 2 sc in next st] – repeat 4 times.
Round 6: 1 sc in each st of previous round.
You can finish your hat at this point or make one sl st in each st all the way around. Join and weave in ends.
