This time it took me a while to think about pattern’s name. Most of my knit and crochet patterns have been done for my daughter, but there is none dedicated to her. Nicole Bow Ear Warmer is an hour long knit project created for a little runner who always refuses to wear any hats.
Knitting materials and knitting tools:
<> Straight needles 3.5 mm (US 4);
<> “Romantic Country” yarn – 80% wool, 20% acrylic. Dark red: 100 grams -120 m per skein;
Common abbreviations of knitting stitches:
k – knit
sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch purlwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch
Size of baby knit ear warmer:
Length folded in half: 18 cm (7”) – will suit baby’s head (circumference 46-50 cm). Knit a bit longer piece to suit bigger head’s circumference.
Width: 10 cm (4”).
Knitting pattern of baby ear warmer with a bow:
Cast on 18 stitches.
Row 1: knit all stitches, turn.
Row 2: knit all stitches, turn.
Continue knitting all rows until desired length of the ear warmer has been reached. To sew two ages of the headband use method of horizontal invisible seam or check short video on my Instagram page to see how I have done it.
Cut the yarn leaving at least 5-7 cm. Pull the yarn slightly to make the seam look wrinkled.
Take another color (in my case it is bright red) and knit simple rectangle for the bow.
Cast on 14 stitches.
Row 1: sel s, k12, sel s.
Row 2: sel s, p12, sel s.
Repeat Rows 1-2 until piece reaches 10.5-11 cm (4 – 4 ½ inches). Bind off.
For the loop part of knitted ear warmer cast on 10 stitches.
Row 1: sel s, [k1, place working yarn in front and slip the next stitch] – repeat 4 times, sel s, turn.
Row 2: sel s, [k1, place working yarn in front and slip the next stitch] – repeat 4 times, sel s, turn. Check short Instagram video for this part. Knit for 17-20 rows.
Put the red rectangle on the top of headband grab the loop (ring) around them and sew from the backside.
The headband is ready. Now put it on your little princess and make some great fall images.

This pattern is very cute. Is this knit with a worsted weight yarn?
Hi, I would say it was bulky 120 m per 100 grams skein, but worsted will work as well
