skpo - Slip, Knit, Pass Over: Slip one stitch to the right needle knitwise, knit in the next stitch, and drop this stitch off the left needle, insert the left needle into the slipped stitch, pass it over the knit stitch and it’s done.

Flat classic socks knitting pattern:
Using the long tail method, cast on 21 sts.
Row 1: sel s, [p1, k1] – repeat across, p1, sel s.
Row 2: sel s, [k1,p1] – repeat across, k1, sel s.
Repeat the last two rows until the ribbing measures 11 cm, ensuring the total number of rows is odd. I knitted 29 rows.
Knit the next 17 rows (7 cm) in stockinette stitch: knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side.
Heel:
Divide all stitches into 3 equal parts and place stitch markers. If there’s 1 extra stitch, add it to the central part; if there are 2 extra stitches, add one to the right side and one to the left side.
Row 1(WS): sel s, p12, p2tog. Turn.
Row 2(RS): sel s, k5, k2tog. Turn.
Row 3(WS): slip 1 purlwise, p5, p2tog. Turn.
Row 4(RS): sel s, k5, k2tog. Turn.
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until only 7 central stitches remain on the needle.
Right side: Pick up 9 stitches through the front loops along the edge of the heel flap. Turn.
Wrong side: Slip 1 purlwise, p15, pick up 9 stitches through the back loops along the other side of the heel flap edge, purling them as you go. Turn. There are 25 stitches on the needle. To return to the original 21 stitches, we will make decreases.
Next Row (RS): sel s, k21, k2tog, sel s. (24)
Next Row (WS): sel s, p20, p2tog, sel s. (23)
Next Row (RS): sel s, k19, k2tog, sel s. (22)
Next Row (WS): sel s, p18, p2tog, sel s. (21)
Continue knitting the sole of the sock in stockinette stitch, without decreases, until the full length of the sock measures 19 cm.
Toe shaping point:
Row 1: sel s, k17, k2tog, sel s. (20)
Row 2: sel s, p16, p2tog, sel s. (19)
Row 3: sel s, k15, k2tog, sel s. (18)
Row 4: sel s, p14, p2tog, sel s. (17)
Continue making decreases until only 7 stitches remain on the needle.
Top part:
Row 1 (RS): sel s, k6, pick up 1 stitch through the front loop. Turn.(8)
Row 2 (WS): No selvage stitch, p8, pick up 1 stitch through the back loop, purl it. Turn. (9)
Row 3 (RS): No selvage stitch, k9, pick up 1 stitch through the front loop. Turn. (10)
Row 4 (WS): No selvage stitch, p10, pick up 1 stitch through the back loop, purl it. Turn. (11)
Row 5 (RS): No selvage stitch, k11, pick up 1 stitch through the front loop. Turn. (12)
Row 6 (WS): No selvage stitch, p12, pick up 1 stitch through the back loop, purl it. Turn. (13)
Continue knitting, picking up stitches on both sides, until the total number of stitches reaches the original 21 stitches.
Next Row (RS): No selvage stitch, k19, skpo, pick up 1 stitch through the front loop. Turn.
In the video tutorial, I originally used k2tog instead of skpo, but this made the seam more visible. So, I decided to use skpo to reduce the seam’s visibility.
Next Row (WS): No selvage stitch, p19, p2tog, pick up 1 stitch through the back loop, purl it.
Repeat the last 2 rows until you reach the ribbing or the last picked-up stitch along the heel flap edge.
Ribbing:
Row 1: No selvedge stitch, k1, [k1, p1] – 9 times, k1. Slip the next stitch to the right-hand needle, pick up 1 stitch through the front loop, and p2tog (the last stitch with the front loop).
Row 2: No selvedge stitch, k1. [p1, k1] – 9 times, p1. Slip the next stitch to the right-hand needle, pick up 1 stitch through the back loop, skpo (the last stitch with the back loop).
Row 3: No selvedge stitch, p1, [k1, p1] – 9 times, k1. Slip the next stitch to the right-hand needle, pick up 1 stitch through the front loop, and p2tog (the last stitch with the front loop).
Row 4 : No selvedge stitch, k1. [p1, k1] – 9 times, p1. Slip the next stitch to the right-hand needle, pick up 1 stitch through the back loop, skpo (the last stitch with the back loop).
Repeat the last two rows until the entire ribbing is complete. Bind off all stitches and weave in all ends. Repeat for the second sock.
