Knit Two-Color Brioche Scarf Pattern

Knitting materials and tools:

<> DPN 4 mm (US6/UK8).

<> Caron Simply Soft (4) – 100% Acrylic, 170 grams – 288 meters.

k – knit

p – purl

k2tog – knit two together

p2tog – purl two together

st(s) – stitch(es)

yo – yarn over

sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch purlwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch

G – grey color yarn

W – white color yarn

Cable 4 Front (C4F): Slip 4 stitches to the extra needle (count yo and slipped stitch of the previous round as one stitch) and hold in front of work, [yo, slip the next stitch, k2tog] – twice from the left hand needle, [yo, slip the next stitch, k2tog] twice from the extra needle.

Cable 4 Back (C4B): Slip 4 stitches to the extra needle (count yo and slipped stitch of the previous round as one stitch) and hold in back of work, [yo, slip the next stitch, k2tog] – twice from the left hand needle, [yo, slip the next stitch, k2tog] twice from the extra needle.

Cast on a multiple of 16 sts plus 8 extra sts and plus 2 selvage stitches.

Row 1 (G): sel s, *yo, slip the next stitch, k1– repeat from *, sel s. Do not turn. Move all stitches to the right side of your needle and start knitting the second row using the second yarn color.

Row 2 (W): sel s, *p2tog (yo and slipped st), yo, slip the next stitch, repeat from *, sel s. Turn.

Row 3 (G): sel s, *p2tog (yo and slipped st), yo, slip the next stitch *, sel s. Do not turn.

Row 4 (W): sel s, *yo, slip the next stitch, k2tog (yo and slipped st) – repeat from*, sel s. Turn.

Row 5 (G): sel s, *yo, slip the next stitch, k2tog (yo and slipped st) – repeat from*, sel s. Do not turn.

Row 6 (W): sel s, *p2tog (yo and slipped st), yo, slip the next stitch, repeat from *, sel s. Turn.

Rows 7-10: repeat Rows 3-6.

Row 11 (G): sel s, *p2tog (yo and slipped st), yo, slip the next stitch, repeat from*, sel s. Do not turn.

Row 12 (W): sel s, C4F, [yo, slip the next stitch, k2tog] – 4 times, C4F, sel s. Turn.

Rows 13-14: repeat Rows 5 and 6.

Rows 15-22: repeat Rows 3-10.

Row 23 (G): sel s, *p2tog (yo and slipped st), yo, slip the next stitch, repeat from*, sel s. Do not turn.

Row 24 (W): sel s, [yo, slip the next stitch, k2tog] – repeat 4 times, C4B, [yo, slip the next stitch, k2tog] – repeat 4 times, sel s. Turn.

Rows 25-26: repeat Rows 5 and 6.
