Christmas peppermint candy knitting pattern:
Using white yarn, cast on 58 sts.
Rows 1-2: knit all stitches.
Bind off all stitches. Cut the yarn and leave a 20-25 cm tail. Set this piece aside.
Using green (red) yarn, cast on 43 sts.
Rows 1-2: knit all stitches. Bind off all stitches.
Place the green (or red) strip on top of the white one and begin rolling them together to form the peppermint candy. Using the yarn tail and a yarn needle, sew the end of the white strip first, then sew the end of the green strip. Finally, push the tail through all the layers to secure the candy and prevent it from unrolling.

Twisted ends (make 2)
Using white yarn, cast on 9 sts.
Row 1: purl all stitches.
Row 2: knit all stitches.
Row 3: knit all stitches.
Row 4: knit all stitches. Bind off all stitches. Cut the yarn, leaving a 15–20 cm (6–8 in) tail. Using the tail, sew the two long sides together. Then, thread the tail through the bottom edge stitches all the way around and pull gently to shape one twisted end of the candy.

Sew each twisted end to the sides of the peppermint candy to secure them in place.
