Knitting materials and tools:
<> Straight or circular needles 4 mm (US6 / UK8), and DPN of the same size for the ties.
<> Pingouin, Fil d’Écosse n° 4 – 100 meters per 50 grams ball, 100% cotton. Quantity – 40 grams
Knit triangular mesh scarf size:
Height: 23 cm (9 in) or to your desired height.

Common abbreviations of knitting stitches:
k – knit
k2tog – knit two together
p – purl
yo – yarn over
st(s) – stitch(es)
sel s – selvage stitch: always slip the first stitch knitwise, work to the last stitch, purl the last stitch
skpo – Slip, Knit, Pass Over: Slip one stitch to the right needle knitwise, knit in the next stitch and drop this stitch off the left needle, insert the left needle into the slipped stitch, pass it over the knit stitch and it’s done

Triangular mesh scarf knitting pattern:
Cast on 4 sts.
Foundation Row 1: sel s, p1, yo, p1, sel s. (5)
Foundation Row 2: sel s, p3, sel s.
Row 1: sel s, p1, yo, k1, yo, p1 sel s. (7)
Row 2: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s.
Row 3: sel s, p1, yo, k1, [yo, skpo] – repeat until 2 sts left, yo, p1, sel s. (9)
Row 4: sel s, purl all stitches, sel s.
Row 5: sel s, p1, yo, knit all stitches, yo, p1, sel s. (11)
Row 6: sel s, p1, knit all stitches, p1, sel s.
Repeat Rows 3-6 until the shawl reaches desired height.
If you are knitting the scarf with ties as I am, the last row you knit should be Row 4.
Bind off all stitches as follows: *k1, k2tog, return both sts to the left-hand needle, repeat from * until 4 sts remain.
K1, k2tog, k1. After that continue knitting 3 sts i-cord. Switch to DPN: k3, slide all stitches to the other end of the needle. Working yarn from the left side. K3. Slide stitches again to the other end and repeat previous steps. Knit until the length of the cord reaches at least 25 cm (10 in). Pick up 3 sts from the opposite corner of the scarf and knit the i-cord in the same way until it reaches the same length.
Weave in all ends.
