Go on knitting in this manner, when every 3 rows you knit two more stitches on the right side and on the left side. Knit until you have 10 stitches of the ribbing in the center (p2, k2, p2, k2, p2). Place stitch markers between those 10 sts.
After that knit one more row – knit all knit stitches and purl all purl stitches. Turn the hat.
Sewing edges of the knit pixie hat:
Cut the working yarn. Slip all stitches to the first stitch marker 29.
Attach the working yarn
Row 1: p2, k2, p2, k2, p1, p2tog (remove the stitch marker)
Row 2: sel s, k1, p2, k2, p2, k1, k2togb (remove the stitch marker)
Row 3: sel s, p1, k2, p2, k2, p1, p2tog
Row 4: sel s, k1, p2, k2, p2, k1, k2togb
Row 5: Repeat Row 3
Row 6: Repeat Row 4
Go on repeating Rows 3 and 4 until you have central 10 sts on your needle.
Cut the working yarn. Place the hat in a way the back part is facing you and the pointed crown looking down.
Pick up stitches (without working yanr) along the left edge through the front loops only. Turn the hat and pick up loops on the other side through the back loops only. Put aside the hat and start knitting first tie.
Using DPN 3.5 mm cast on 3 stitches and knit an i-cord. Slide all stitches to the other end of the needle. Working yarn from the left side. K3. Slide stitches again to the other end and repeat previous steps. Knit until the length of the cord reaches at least 17 cm. Do not cat the yarn it will be our working yarn for the hat now.
When the tie is ready, place the hat again in a way the back part is facing you and the pointed crown looking down, slip 3 sts from the DPN to circular needle.
[K2, k2togb, return 3 sts from the RHN to the LHN] – repeat until you reach central 10sts, [K2, k3togb, return 3 sts from the RHN to the LHN] – repeat 6 times, [K2, k2togb, return 3 sts from the RHN to the LHN] – repeat until you have 3 sts on your needle and then knit another tie for 17 cm. At the end [k2tog, k1], slide stitches again, k2tog.
Cut the yarn, weave in ends.
