Cut yarn leaving 10-15 cm tail. Use hook or tapestry needle to pull yarn tail through the last 10 remaining stitches. Pull tight to close the hole. Hide the tail inside of the hat and weave it in into the backside of our stitches.

Coming to the final part of this pattern you have at least a couple of options to decorate your hat with a pom pom. The first one is to make a handmade yarn pom. The second one is to tie a real/faux fur pom pom.

Hi Susan. Please check abbreviations. C4F it is 8 stitches. Cable 4 Front (C4F): Slip 4 knit stitches to the extra needle and hold in front of work, k4 from the left-hand needle, k4 from the extra needle. It means row 3 has 14 stitches too.

Hello, do you have this pattern for straight needles instead of knitting in the round? Thank you, linda.

Hi, I am almost done with the hat and I don’t understand how do do Row 4 of the decrease round. It says to slip 3 stitches onto the cable needle, but it only says to knit 1 off. I’m confused. Could you try to explain it better to me? Thank you,
Diane

It says k2tog and after k1 (those 3 stitches that you slipped)
