Knitting materials and tools:
<> Circular or DPN knitting needles 9 mm (US 13/UK 00); Use 8 mm needles for the child size and do not change the pattern.
<>Lion Brand Wool, Ease Thick & Quick – 20% wool, 80% acrylic. Color of your choice.
<> Crochet hook or tapestry needle and 4 stitch markers.
Chunky knit ribbed hat size:
Adult: 53-56 cm
Gauge: 9-10 sts – 4 inches (10 cm)

k3tog LL (left leaning) – knit three together through the back loops
k3tog RL (right leaning) – knit three together through the front loops

Body of the chunky knit ribbed hat:
Сast on 48 stitches or any other number that is divisible by 12. Join to knit in the round. Place marker.
Round 1: [p1, k1] – repeat till the end of round.
Round 2: [ p1, slip the next st holding working yarn in back] – repeat till the end of round.
Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 three more time to get in total 8 rounds.
Round 9: [p1, k1, p3, k1] – repeat till the end of round.
Round 10: [p1, slip the next st holding working yarn in back, p3, slip the next st holding working yarn in back] – repeat till the end of round.
Repeat Rounds 9 and 10 until hat reaches 20-21 cm for an adult size and 19 cm for the child size.
Shaping the crown of chunky ribbed knit hat:

Round 3: [p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, p2tog, k1, p1, k1, p1, p2tog, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1] – repeat twice.
Round 4: [p1, slip, p1, slip, p1, slip, p2, slip, p1, slip, p2, slip, p1, slip, p1, slip] – repeat twice.
Round 5: [p1, k3tog LL, p1, k1, p2, k1, p1, k1, p2, k1, p1, k3tog RL] – repeat twice.

Cut the yarn leaving 10 cm tail and pull it through remaining 8 stitches by using hook or tapestry needle. Weave in ends.
