Knitting materials and tools:
Double-pointed knitting needles 9 mm (US 13/UK 00). Use 10 mm if you find yourself a tight knitter.
Lion Brand Wool, Ease Thick & Quick – 20% wool, 80% acrylic. Color of your choice.
Weight Category – 6. Quantity – less than 1 ball (80 grams). If you have difficulty finding the aforementioned brand of yarn, use something else that will have about 60 m (65 yards) per 100-gram skein.
Pointy witch knit hat size:
Head circumference: Child/Teen/Adult: 52-58 cm (21-23”)
Gauge: 9 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette

Pointy witch hat knitting pattern:
Cast on pointy witch hat:
Using the long tail method cast on 40 (child size) 44 (53-56 cm), 48 (56-58 cm) stitches or any other number multiple of 4. Join to knit in the round being careful not to twist stitches. Place stitch marker.
Knitting the body of a pointy witch hat:
Round 1: knit all stitches around.
Repeat Round 1 until the hat measures 17 cm for a child size and 20-21cm for an adult size from the edge.
Shaping the crown of a pointy witch hat:
Divide all stitches into 4 parts, and place stitch markers if needed:
Child size: 10-10-10-10
53-56 cm: 11-11-11-11
56-58 cm: 12-12-12-12
Round 1: [k (8/9/10), k2tog] – repeat 4 times.
Round 2: knit all stitches.
Round 3: [k (7/8/9), k2tog] – repeat 4 times.
Round 4: knit all stitches around.
Round 5: [k (6/7/8), k2tog] – repeat 4 times.
Round 6: knit all stitches around.
Round 7: [k (5/6/7), k2tog] – repeat 4 times.
Round 8: knit all stitches around.
Go on making decreases alternating one row with decreases and one row without decreases until you have 4 stitches on your needles.
Cut yarn leaving 10-15 cm tail. Use a hook or tapestry needle to pull the yarn tail through the remaining 4 stitches. Pull tight to close the hole. Weave in ends.
